I suppose that with Daniel Craig’s particularly more emotionally engaged interpretation of the ever suave, oh so iconic James Bond character, it is in order that the equally iconic John Paul Gaultier should make an attempt at interpreting 007 in fashion, with a new 21 Century perspective.
Gaultier’s 007 possesses all the mission-accomplishing characteristics of the quintessential alpha male but with the subtle sensibilities of charm, seduction and emotional aptitude typically met with Bond’s gorgeous femme fatales.
And if Agent 007 and John Paul Gaultier have any contribution towards menswear (which, obviously, they do), then this autumn-winter we should not be surprised to see fashion intelligent men the world over wearing metallics – golds, silver, cobalt and copper – leather, form fitting body suits, sequences, rather goodlooking and exceedingly comfortable tuxedos.
In closing, I am really looking forward with great enthusiasm how men will assimilate John Paul Gaultier Menswear Autumn/Winter Collection 2011/2012 into their wardrobes.
