Ladies and gentlemen, today is a very special day – at least for Herman Eloff – as we raise a glass and make a toast to 27 years of the journalist-come-photographer’s life.
Mr. Eloff is a Joburger by heritage but a Cape Townian through and through (the reasons of which we will not explore): if his Polaroids on Sidewalks blog is anything to measure by, then Hermon seems to prefer to live a particularly eclectic life. What is that saying? ‘He is a man of the world!’
Polaroids on Sidewalks (which is a fairly engaging one as blogs go) is a visual collage of intimate moments captured on camera, reflections on contemporary cosmopolitan lifestyle and developments in men’s fashion and lifestyle.
And if I had to make a considered wager, my money would be on that Mr. Eloff’s true passion and career path lies in a more encompassing vocation that mingles his interest in journalism, photography and the arts – art director, trends curator, maybe editor? But whatever Herman puts his hand to, we love!
Recently, he collaborated with Cape Town-based photographer Jacobus Snyman on a editorial called I Heart Reading that reminds us all why books will never go out of fashion. And The Luxury Lifestyle Guide has been granted the opportunity by the duo to present the thought-provoking series to you this Spring.
(En, seuns en meisies, Mr. Eloff is a baie mooi seun!)
So, Mr. Eloff, as you make merriment, we say cheers to that and…
HAPPY BIRTHDAY FROM THE LUXURY LIFESTYLE GUIDE!
